Standard CCTV in a bank branch does one job well: it records. If an incident happens, footage exists to review afterward. The value is entirely in surfacing the right moment out of hours of otherwise unwatched footage, so a guard's attention goes where it's actually needed instead of being spread evenly (and thinly) across everything at once.

The practical case for banks. Branch security budgets are finite, and adding guard headcount has diminishing returns once a branch already has entry and hall coverage.
